Yanukovych: System of social protection of children needs state support
The system for the social protection of children in Ukraine needs state support, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"The system, which is currently being worked out, requires state support," he said during his visit to the Promin Nadii (Ray of Hope) Center of Social Support for Children and Families in Makariv (Kyiv region) on Friday.
He said that the center was the first part of a model for children's rights protection and social care for parents and children is being worked out.
"We still have a lot of problems in the state, but we must do everything to ensure that these problems with the absence of children's homes and boarding schools are resolved," Yanukovych said.
He said that if the younger generation cannot adapt to life, not only young people suffer from this, but "the state is losing from this."
Yanukovych said that everything must be done to make these children happy.
