Initial registrations of new buses (including minibuses) in Ukraine in August increased almost 2.5 times, or by 81 vehicles, by September last year, to 136 vehicles, according to statistics from the Ukrautoprom association.

However, compared to August this year, when 209 buses were registered, demand decreased by almost 35%.

As reported, in August 2023, registrations of new buses almost doubled compared to July.

According to statistics, Citroen has lost the leadership it held since May of this year, with five buses registered versus 72 buses in August 2023 and 15 in September 2022, moving to fifth place.

The leaders in September were Ataman buses produced by JSC Cherkasy Bus, registrations of which increased by 4 buses compared with August 2022, to 56 vehicles (in September last year - 8 vehicles).

In second place is the Ukrainian Etalon - 34 buses, which, however, is one third less than the August registrations. ZAZ rose to third place (from 4th in August) - 17 buses versus 11, and in September last year not a single bus of this brand was registered.

This is followed by Ford (16 versus 8 in August), Citroen and Volkswagen with two buses.

Chinese JAC buses and Turkish Temsa buses (two units each), as well as one Bogdan bus, were registered in small quantities in August.

Thus, in January-September 2023, the total initial registrations of new buses of all classes in Ukraine amounted to 1,230 buses, which is almost 2.4 times more than for the same period in 2022.

As experts previously said, the bus market is "gradually reviving" (with the exception of especially large class buses).
