UIA to offer 18,000 tickets for $180 in November

Kyiv-based Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) from November 1 to November 31 plans to sell 18,000 round trip tickets under a promotion at a price of $180, not including taxes and duties.

The carrier's press service reported that passengers will be able to buy tickets on flights until March 2011.

The promotion does not apply to flights from Goa, Colombo, Tbilisi and Dubai and on flights from December 15, 2010 to January 15, 2011.

CJSC Ukraine International Airlines was founded in 1992. The company has 19 Boeing airplanes of various types: four Boeing 737-800s, five Boeing 737-500s, six Boeing 737-400s, and four Boeing 737-300s. The company's main airport is Kyiv's Boryspil International Airport.

The State Property Fund of Ukraine owns a 61.6% stake in the company, UIA Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (Austria) has a 22.52% stake, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development a 9.9% stake, and Capital Investment Project owns 6% of the company's shares.

In 2009, the company saw passenger transportation fall by 6%, to 1.563 million passengers, while total air transportation in Ukraine fell by 17%.
