Polysus AG in March to supply first batch of equipment for Altcem cement plant under construction in Crimea

Polysus AG Company, part of Germany's Thyssen Krupp Concern, in March 2009 is to supply a first consignment of equipment for the Altcem cement plant, which is under construction in Pryozerne in Crimea.

According to a posting on the Web site of Donetsk-based Altcom financial and industrial group, which owns Altcem, an agreement with the German company worth EUR 186 million was signed in February 2008.

Several meetings with the leadership of Polysus AG on equipment supplies for future production facilities are to start on Thursday. The engineering of various parts for the future cement plant will be discussed.

Altcem's deputy director general, Serhiy Kikotia, said that the present economic situation in the country would not delay the project.

Another of Altcom's deputy directors general, Mykhailo Kovalyov, said that at this stage, preparation works are being done on the construction site and a worksite road is being built.
