Ukraine interested in implementation of large infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan - Zubko

Ukraine is interested in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko has said.

"Today we've discussed the topic related to construction in Turkmenistan by Ukrainian companies, the existing projects have been highly praised," Zubko told journalists in Ashgabat.

He said that Ukrainian companies are involved in building bridges, airports, and waterworks in Ashgabat.

"This proves that Ukrainian companies can perform very complicated, long-term, innovative engineering projects in Middle and Central Asia," the minister said.

According to him, Ukraine is interested in participating in the construction of a subway in Ashgabat.

"Today we've discussed the fact that we will be able to take part in building the subway in Ashgabat. It is important for us as the only partners that can participate in building the underground here are Japanese companies and we also want to involve them in building the metro in Kyiv," Zubko said.

According to him, Ukraine is preparing an official letter to the prime minister of Japan with regard to raising funds for subway construction in the Raiduzhny residential area in Kyiv.
