Ukraine threshes 49.6 mln tonnes of grain as of Oct 16
As of October 16, 49.6 million tonnes of grain with an average yield of 38.7 centners per ha was threshed, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko has said.
Grain was harvested from 12.8 million hectares (ha), or 88% of the forecast.
Late crops are still being harvested, in particular, corn in grain, soybeans, sunflower seeds and sugar beets.
Corn in grain has been threshed on 2.3 million ha, its harvest amounted to 11.8 million tonnes with an average yield of 51 centners per ha.
Buckwheat was threshed on 118,000 ha, 138,000 tonnes was harvested with the average yield being 11.7 centners per ha.
Millet was threshed on 104,000 ha, with a forecast of 108,000 ha, 206,000 tonnes was harvested with the average yield being 20 centners per ha.
Soybeans were threshed on 1.7 million ha, with a forecast of 2.1 million ha, 3 million tonnes was harvested with the average yield being 17.1 centners per ha.
Sunflower was threshed on 4.4 million hectares, with a forecast of 5 million ha, around 10 million tonnes was harvested with the average yield being 21.2 centners per ha.
Sugar beets was threshed on 122,000 ha, with a forecast of 238,000 ha, almost 4.8 million tonnes was dug up with the average yield being 394 centners per ha.
As of October 12, 2015, potatoes were dug up on 1.25 million ha, or 97% of the area), 20.9 million tonnes was dug with the average yield being 166.4 centners per ha.
Vegetable was harvested on 380,000 ha, or 86% of the area, 6.8 million tonnes was received with an average yield of 179.8 centners per ha.
