Ukraine interested in establishing direct cooperation between Ukrainian, Indian media companies - Tochytsky

Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytsky discussed with Ambassador of the Republic of India to Ukraine Ravi Shankar the prospects of Ukrainian-Indian cooperation in the field of culture and information.

"We are grateful to Indian journalists for their media support in covering the situation in Ukraine, especially in the cultural sphere. This is very important for us. We are also interested in establishing direct cooperation between Ukrainian and Indian media companies," the press service of the department quotes Tochytsky.

The Minister also outlined key areas and projects that require support from foreign partners, in particular, the program to support translations of Ukrainian literature Translate Ukraine, the implementation of cultural projects in India Ukrainian Bookshelf and Ukrainian-language audio guides in leading museums and cultural sites, as well as the project National Bookshelves in Ukrainian Libraries.

In turn, the Ambassador stated that cultural diplomacy is an important component of cooperation between Ukraine and India, and the cooperation itself should be mutually active.

According to him, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is ready to help in promoting cultural projects at the international level, which opens up new opportunities for cooperation."

"We are open to cooperation, in particular, in promoting Ukrainian books, as well as joint implementation of other cultural initiatives," Shankar emphasized.
