Kyiv intends to allocate UAH 800 mln for fortifications, UAH 300 mln for AFU needs
Kyiv City Council plans to allocate funds for the construction of fortifications, as well as for the urgent needs of military units registered in Kyiv, said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
“We must adopt changes to the budget and programs for the socio-economic development of the capital regarding the allocation of funds to the security and defense forces. Namely, under the Defender of Kyiv city target program, we will allocate UAH 800 million for the construction of fortifications and for urgent needs, with which military units registered in Kyiv are contacting us," Klitschko said.
“So that we transfer UAH 300 million from the budget of the capital additionally in the form of a subvention to the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, our military. We will allocate these funds for the purchase of drones, electronic warfare equipment and other essentials for Ukrainian soldiers on the front line," the mayor noted.
"We can directly allocate funds, according to the law, only to units that are registered in the capital. And the Ministry of Defense, having received this money, will be able to purchase the necessary things for different units, knowing their needs," Klitschko explained.
