Poroshenko accepts credentials from ambassadors of Switzerland, Moldova, Albania, Ireland, Chile and Uruguay

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has accepted credentials from Swiss ambassador Guillaume Scheurer, Moldovan Ruslan Bolbocean, Albanian Shpresa Kureta, Irish Charles Sheehan, Chile Alfredo Garcia Castelblanco, and Uruguayan Pablo Ernesto Scheiner Correa.
According to the president's official website, in the course of the meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine, the president paid special attention to the discussion of bilateral contacts at the highest level and establishment of interaction of the two countries in the OSCE to resolve the situation in Donbas and protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.
The head of state thanked the government of Switzerland for humanitarian, technical and financial aid provided for Ukraine and urged for the intensification of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.
In his turn, Guillaume Scheurer stated readiness of his country to double the volume of humanitarian and technical aid for Ukraine for the period of 2015-2018.
He also noted that active participation in the OSCE Monitoring Mission in Donbas remained a priority for Switzerland.
Talking to the ambassador of Moldova, Poroshenko expressed hope for prompt stabilization of political situation and formation of the new government of Moldova.
The parties discussed certain aspects of Transdniestria conflict settlement and the role of Ukraine and Moldova in ensuring regional security, particularly in the issue of withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine and Moldova. They also noted the importance of coordinating efforts in the European integration direction, inter alia, in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreements.
Speaking of the European integration with Ambassador of Albania to Ukraine Kureta, the president noted the similarity of priorities in foreign policy of the two countries in this sphere. The Head of State said that the idea of European integration had united the nation and expressed interest in the experience of Albania on the way to the EU membership.
