Albania is opening its embassy in Kyiv, which was damaged during a Russian attack a month ago, Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hasani has said Friday.
"I am particularly pleased to be here in Kyiv also to open the Embassy of the Republic of Albania, which was baptized by fire almost a month ago. It was attacked along with other embassies of our region and other states as a result of Russian attacks," he said speaking at the Ukraine-South East Europe ministerial in Kyiv on Friday.
Hasani also said that Ukraine can count on Albania's support as well as "constant efforts for Ukraine to have territorial integrity, full sovereignty and be a member of the Euro-Atlantic values family."
"We must continue cooperate, work together and support Ukraine in this just cause," the minister said.
As reported, the embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro came under enemy fire in Kyiv on December 20, 2024.
On February 2024, then Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba announced, following talks with his Albanian counterpart Igli Hasani, that Albania planned to re-open its embassy in Kyiv soon.
