Kuleba visits Hong Kong, calls to close ways for Russia circumventing restrictive measures
As part of his visit to China, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba visited the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Thursday, July 25, where he met with Head of the Administration John Lee.
According to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the creation of new opportunities for trade and investment between Ukraine and Hong Kong in the context of the restoration of our country.
Kuleba also called on the Hong Kong Administration to take measures to deprive Russia and Russian companies of the opportunity to use Hong Kong to circumvent restrictive measures imposed for Russian aggression against Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that these restrictive measures are necessary to weaken Russia's potential to wage war and kill people in Ukraine. The minister emphasized that Russian machinations should not spoil Hong Kong's reputation as a highly developed liberal economy, which is based on unwavering respect for the rule of law," the message said.
Kuleba also discussed with his interlocutor the issues of protecting the rights of Ukrainian citizens in Hong Kong.
During the visit, the minister held a separate meeting with representatives of Hong Kong business, where he discussed the prospects for interaction with Ukrainian companies and investments, in particular in the context of the restoration of Ukraine.
