Ukraine beats Spain in qualification for 2019 FIBA World Cup
The men's basketball national team of Ukraine has beaten the Spain squad scoring 76:65 in group one of the second round of qualification for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
The game took place on Friday, September 14, in Kyiv's Palace of Sports.
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk in the Ukrainian national team, who in July 2018 signed a contract with famous NBA Los Angeles Lakers, racked up 22 points.
During the second round of qualification for the 2019 FIBA World Cup Ukraine plays in group one with teams of Spain, Slovenia, Turkey, Latvia and Montenegro. The top three teams in each group qualify for the World Cup.
On September 17, 2018, Ukraine will have an away game with Montenegro, on November 29 with Slovenia in Ukraine, on December 2 an away game with Spain, on February 22, 2019 at home with Montenegro and on February 25 an away game with Slovenia.
The 2019 FIBA World Cup is to take place in China from August 31 through September 15.
