Ukrainian Mykhailiuk signs contract with Los Angeles Lakers
Ukrainian basketball player Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most titled clubs of the world's strongest league NBA.
According to the club's official website, the contract was signed on July 10.
The 21-year-old Mykhailiuk was born in Cherkasy. In 2012-2014, he played for Ukrainian club Cherkaski Mavpy.
In May 2014, he received proposals from several American universities and from July 2014 he played for Kansas Jayhawks.
The 47th overall pick in this year's NBA Draft out of the University of Kansas, Mykhailiuk earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors last season.
