1 min read

Metalist Kharkiv has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Ukrainian Cup after beating Karpaty Lviv 2-0 on October 30.

Goals from Alejandro Gomez and Rodrigo Moledo in the first time brought the Kharkiv side to victory.

Another central match of this stage of the Ukrainian Cup between Chornomorets and Dnipro in Odesa was not held on October 30 as the Dnipropetrovsk side did not arrive for the game due to being unable to land at Odesa Airport due to fog.

Dynamo Kyiv also reached the Ukrainian Cup quarterfinals after hammering Second League's Shakhtar Sverdlovsk 4-0.

Shakhtar Donetsk progressed to the cup's last eight after defeating First League's Mykolaiv 3-0.

Other Ukrainian Cup quarterfinals include First League's Desna, which beat Metalurh Zaporizhia in a penalty shootout, and Second League's Slavutych Cherkasy and Ternopil that knocked Avangard Kramatorsk and Vorskla Poltava out of the tournament.

In addition, Arsenal Kyiv should be handed a penalty defeat for its failure to appear for the Ukrainian Cup match against Nyva Ternopil, which will be another quarterfinalist.
