Ukrainian Hockey Championship suspended until December 25 due to teams' debts to PHL

The control and disciplinary committee of the Professional Hockey League of Ukraine (PHL) at its meeting on December 17 canceled all the matches of the league until December 25.

The only exception will be two matches between Bila Tserkva's Bilyi Bars and Kharkiv's Dynamo on December 18 and 20, according to the official Web site of Kyiv ice hockey club Berkut.

"Thus, the match of the 24th round between Berkut and Kompanion-Naftogaz (both Kyiv), Donbas which was previously scheduled for December 19 will not take place," Berkut's press service reported.

According to the iSport.ua Web site, the PHL had to suspend the championship due to the clubs debts in paying entry fees to the league. At the moment, only Bilyi Bars has no debts.

The league currently includes seven teams: Berkut, Sokil, Kompanion-Naftogaz (all Kyiv), Donbas (Donetsk), Dynamo (Kharkiv), Levy (Lviv), and Bilyi Bars (Bila Tserkva).
