Grilles for floor convectors to order from Salon Tepla
The decorative grille is the only visible element in the floor convector system, which not only plays a decorative role, but also protects the heat exchanger from large debris getting into it. Thanks to the grate, you can step on the convector, one grate strip can withstand a load of up to 40 kg, since when walking we step on 3-5 crossbars at once, an adult can walk on the convector.
How to choose a custom grate for a floor-mounted convector
The selection of a grate for a custom-made floor convector depends on several factors, such as size, type of material, configuration, as well as appearance and compliance with the interior. On the website salon-tepla.com.ua you can see a full list of grates for convectors. Here are the main points to consider when choosing:
Grate dimensions
- Width
- Length
- The height (thickness) of the grille is a very important parameter, since different manufacturers have different protrusions where the grille is inserted.
Grate material
- aluminum is a more durable material, has more varieties of designs and colors
- wood - usually such types of wood as oak, ash, alder are used and are supplied in a natural color (without additional processing)
Grate types
- transverse or they are also called roller - twist, very convenient to use
- longitudinal - non-twisting, have an elegant design
Appearance and color
The grille should have a harmonious appearance with the flooring and the general room or, on the contrary, an accent color in the interior and echo other elements. Manufacturers offer a wide range of color solutions and devices for installing the grille to match the interior.
How to choose a grille if you don't know what kind of convector you have?
In our practice, we often encounter a situation when a client doesn't know what kind of convector he has and wants to buy a grille separately. This can happen if a fan coil was bought earlier because it was needed for installation, and the purchase of a grille was postponed for later, or you bought an apartment with built-in convectors, but without grilles. If you find yourself in such a situation, use our recommendations.
Instructions for measuring the grille for an in-floor convector
Even if you know the dimensions of the grilles, during installation the convector body can shrink and the grille may not fit, so it is better to remeasure everything before ordering.
- We measure the length of the convector in 2-3 places from the inside of the convector
- We measure the width of the convector in 3-5 places from the inside of the convector
- We measure the depth of the grate (the step on which the grate is laid) to know the height of the grate profile
- From the results obtained, we select the smallest ones and place orders for production based on them.
We cooperate directly with factories that manufacture convectors and grates for them, therefore we can make any length and width of grates with an accuracy of up to 1 mm, but we cannot change the height of the profile. Therefore, this is a very important parameter and if you do not want the grille to protrude above the floor or be recessed, be sure to pay attention to this parameter.
Which grille to choose with or without a frame?
Having decided on the size, material and design of the grille, you need to decide on the next point - to take a set with or without a frame? In addition to the visual effect, which has more individual coloring, who prefers the framed version, who prefers the frameless one, the frame performs an important function - overlapping the joint. Depending on the floor covering, you can beautifully and clearly approach the edge of the convector, for example, with tiles, with parquet or other wooden flooring, this can be done almostimpossible. Consult with the installers and discuss this point in advance.
