2 min read

UDAR Party MP Serhiy Kaplin has filed a lawsuit at the District Administrative Court of Kyiv regarding the inactivity of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who did not respond to his deputy queries, reads a statement posted on the UDAR Party's official Web site.

Kaplin sent a deputy query to the prime minister regarding abuse of office by the director for the staffing of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, Yuriy Yevteyev, in which he demands that claims of his illegally conferring the second rank of civil servant on Yevteyev and using weapons against rural residents be checked. According to the MP, the incident occurred when the residents tried to regain access to a local beach seized by the official.

"According to the law, Mykola Azarov should have given a written reply to the appeal within ten days. Almost two months have already passed, but there is no answer. However, as a result of my appeal to the prosecutor's office, the latter has already opened a criminal case against the official due to his shooting at people," Kaplin said.

He said that despite the publicity that the case has acquired, the prime minister remains silent.

"I appealed to the prime minister through the media, from the parliament rostrum, but he openly ignores Ukrainian law and covers up for 'Lozinsky No. 2.' So I filed a lawsuit and demand that the inactivity of Ukrainian Prime Minister Azarov be declared unlawful due to the failure to provide, in the manner prescribed by law, a written response to a deputy query sent on April 18 this year," Kaplin said.
