The indirect owner of over 50% of shares in Karpatnaftokhim LLC via Xedrian Holding Ltd. (Cyprus) is Ilkham Mamedov, who earlier headed LUKOIL-Ukraine, Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee has reported.

Mamedov was appointed head of LUKOIL-Ukraine on November 29, 2014 when the group announced that it is selling its filling station chain in Ukraine. Earlier Mamedov worked at other posts in LUKOIL's companies.

Earlier Antimonopoly Committee permitted Techinservice Limited (London, UK) to acquire over 25% of shares in Dutch Lukoil Chеmical and a Ukrainian citizen via Xedrian Holding Ltd (Cyprus) – over 50% in Lukoil Chеmical.

Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk who earlier was Kalush Mayor for many years predicted that Karpatnaftokhim would resume operations after the Verkhovna Rada annuls the excise duty on liquefied gas and some types of diesel fuel imported for the needs of the enterprise. The decision was made by parliament on December 20, 2016.

Karpatnaftokhim produces ethylene, polyethylene, vinyl chloride, caustic soda, chloride and suspended polyvinyl chloride. The plant was halted in September 2012 due to unfavorable situation on the chemical market.
