Turkish Airlines plans to double number of flights to/from Ukraine in 2013

Turkish Airlines intends in 2013 to double the number of flights made to and from Ukraine (from 50 to 100 per week), Vice President for Sales and Marketing in Eastern Europe and Balkans Mehmet Baspinar said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

"We want to be number one among the international airlines in Ukraine. At present we perform 50 flights, and this year we want to double this, if our fleet allows us to, and the corresponding agreements are signed," he said.

Baspinar said that the company plans that from the start of the 2013 summer navigation season it will increase the number of flights to and from Ukraine to 73 per week and it has filed the relevant requests with the aviation authorities.

He also said that in the near term Turkish Airlines wants to open flights to and from Kharkiv.

Today the airline flights to Turkey from Lviv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Simferopol and Kyiv.

Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933. Its fleet consists of 207 passenger and cargo planes flying on 219 routes, including 186 international and 36 domestic ones.
