Pritzker is in Kyiv on her last visit as US Special Rep for Ukraine's Economic Recovery

U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker said she is in Kyiv on her last visit in this post, as Congressional requirements limit her term in the position to one year.

"Finally, I say this with some sadness in my heart. It's never been a secret that congressional requirements limit my time in this role to one year, which is why this will be my last trip to Kyiv as special representative. But I remain committed to this mission and to this work," she said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

Pritzker also said both she and the Biden administration are committed to Ukraine.

"Ukraine's economic recovery will not only continue, but is continuing to evolve as dictated. And there will be continuity in our work to support Ukraine's mission to not only win the war, but also win the future," she said. The special representative also expressed gratitude to the government and people of Ukraine for their fight for sovereignty, territorial integrity, self-determination and democratic values.

"Ukraine continues to inspire the world with its grit and determination in the face of Putin's brutality and brutal war. We must continue to stand with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," she said.

Pritzker said she is on her ninth visit to Ukraine, her sixth in the past year as the special representative for Ukraine's economic recovery.
