Ukraine is fully prepared to host the final matches of the women's and men's Champions League in Kyiv on May 24 and May 26, Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Ihor Rainin has said.

"Ukraine is fully prepared to host the final matches of the 2018 UEFA Champions League. Ukraine carefully prepared for this event. We conducted a series of events aimed at creating conditions for holding these matches," the presidential press service quoted him as saying at a meeting of the organizing committee on preparing for and holding the Champions League finals.

Rainin expressed confidence that on May 11-12, following a tour of inspection, representatives of UEFA would present a final report on the guarantees of safe functioning of all the systems needed to hold the matches and completion of all the works, and would give a positive assessment.

He noted that since the final matches of the UEFA Champions League, in terms of their status, refer to events of increased risk, Ukrainian law enforcement structures should demonstrate their professionalism and minimize all possible risks for people who visit Ukraine.

CEO of UEFA Events SA Martin Kallen thanked all members of the organizing committee for the preparatory work.

He said that it would undoubtedly be a grand final for the Champions League and for the city of Kyiv.

He recalled that there were still three weeks before the events start and expressed confidence that everything would be organized at a proper level and that everybody would be satisfied with the result.
