The question of the appointment of head coach of Ukraine's national football team will be considered at a meeting of the executive committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) on December 26, the federation's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

It is unknown whether one of the candidates for the post, Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson, will attend the meeting to present his program to the members of the executive committee.

"Ericsson presented his program during talks with the leadership of the football federation, and he asked whether he has to be present at a meeting of the executive committee. The leadership of the federation said that it was desirable that the coach be present. It depends on Eriksson whether he attends the meeting on December 26," the press service reported.

As reported, on December 12, the FFU presidium selected two candidates for the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national football team, in particular, Swedish manager Sven-Goran Eriksson and a well-known Ukrainian coach and Head of the FFU Committee of National Teams, Mykhailo Fomenko.

On December 19, the FFU leadership held talks with Eriksson in Kyiv.

"He is a good candidate, a good coach. We listened to his requirements and took them into account. Anyway, the executive committee will decide on this issue," FFU President Anatoliy Konkov said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

The post of the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team became vacant after Oleh Blokhin took charge of FC Dynamo Kyiv in late September 2012.
