Head coach of Ukraine's national football team could be appointed on December 24
The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) has not yet contacted Swedish manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, a candidate for the post of head coach of the Ukrainian national football team, and is planning to send a letter to him with a respective proposal.
"We have not yet contacted Eriksson. Following the presidium's decision, we will send a letter to him. As far as we know, he wants to work with the national team," FFU First Vice-President Anatoliy Popov told the Segodnya newspaper on Thursday.
He also said that December 24 was a provisional date for a meeting of the FFU's executive committee, which is to hear the programs of the two remaining candidates for the post of Ukraine manager, Eriksson and Head of the FFU Committee of National Teams Mykhailo Fomenko, and take a final decision on this issue.
