Commander of 28th Motorized Brigade, Colonel Hulyaev killed in Mykolaiv region on July 23
Commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade, Colonel Vitaliy Hulyaev, was killed in Mykolaiv region on Saturday, July 23, member of Kyiv City Council Pavlo Boychenko said.
"The commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, Colonel Vitaliy Hulyaev, on July 23, 2022, gave his life defending Ukraine. Odesa region, Bessarabia, we bow low to the hero who gave his life, protecting the south of Ukraine, our families from the invasion of the Rashists," Boychenko said on Facebook on Sunday, July 24.
He said that under the command of Hulyaev, Odesa 28th brigade stopped the advance of Russian troops in the south. "And, having discarded them, step by step, it started to clear Mykolaiv and Kherson regions of rubbish," the deputy said.
