Migration situation in Ukraine doesn't threaten EU
The migration situation in Ukraine doesn't endanger the boarder security of the European Union, Head of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service Viktor Nazarenko said.
"Despite stepping up of activities on Afghani and Syrian routes, especially on the Hungarian section, the migration situation in Ukraine doesn't jeopardize the boarder security of European countries," Nazarenko said at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said that amid the global migration crisis a share of migrants who got into the EU from Ukraine makes only 0.1%.
At the same time, Nazarenko stressed that the two-fold increase in the number of arrests of illegal migrants keeps the matter of countering illegal migration on a list of priorities.
