Gunmen attack border unit in eastern Ukraine - Parubiy

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Parubiy has said that gunmen attacked a border unit on the border of Luhansk and Donetsk regions early on Thursday.

"Tonight an attack was carried out on a border unit on the border of Donetsk and Luhansk regions from the Russian Federation," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

He noted that law enforcement officers had rebuffed the attack, but the situation itself shows that statements by the Russian president on the withdrawal of troops from the border "have nothing to do with reality."
