Ukraine and Lithuania Parliament speakers to meet on Nov 27 - Rada press service
Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Rybak will meet with Lithuanian Seimas Chairperson Loreta Grauziniene on Wednesday, the Ukrainian Parliament's press service said.
The meeting is due to begin at the Verkhovna Rada session hall at 1000 on Wednesday.
Grauziniene's secretariat announced on November 25 that the Lithuanian Parliament speaker would leave on Tuesday for Kyiv, where she is going to meet with Rybak and opposition leaders.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius, for his part, said he knew nothing of Grauziniene's plans to visit Ukraine.
"I know about neither the motives behind this visit nor how such an agreement was reached," he told Lithuanian radio on Tuesday.
Rybak is currently on an official visit to Canada.
Last week, the Ukrainian authorities decided to halt preparations for the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union. The document was supposed to be signed at this week's Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius.
