Ukraine bids to host 2022 Winter Olympics, says Vilkul
Ukraine has submitted its bid to hold the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Lviv, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul has said.
"Today, November 14, is the deadline. And I want to say that we have applied to host the 2022 Olympics," he said at a conference on the impact of the Internet on the economy in Kyiv on Thursday.
According to the Web site of the International Olympic Committee, the organization's executive committee will select the host city for the 2022 Olympics at the IOC session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 31, 2014.
