Yanukovych vows to go on with improving social protection of senior citizens
Improvement of social protection of senior citizens is a priority task of the government, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"Today we have to remember these people and solve their problems," the president said.
According to the head of state, pensions in Ukraine have grown by 42% over the last three years.
The president also stressed the need to ensure that employed citizens receive stable wages and that contributions from their wages are made to the pension fund.
"Improvement of the pension fund is also our goal and our duty, and that's what we're doing today," Yanukovych said.
