Zelenskyy: Ukraine may hold elections simultaneously with referendum on peace agreement
Ukraine will submit a twenty-point peace agreement for ratification by parliament or hold a nationwide referendum, and may also decide to hold elections in the country simultaneously with the referendum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"Ukraine will submit this agreement for ratification by parliament in the format and/or hold a nationwide referendum for approval in the 'yes' or 'no' format. Ukraine may decide to hold elections simultaneously with the referendum," Zelenskyy said during a meeting with journalists on Tuesday.
In addition, security guarantees will only come into force if the agreement is fully ratified or approved by a referendum.
