Zelenskyy and Rutte commemorate fallen Ukrainian soldiers on Independence Square
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the People's Memorial in the central square of the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday, where they honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian defenders.
"Independence Square. People's Memorial of National Memory. Memorial to our heroes, soldiers, our people who defended Ukraine from the enemy, fought and gave their most precious in this war. Together with Mark Rutte, today we honored the memory of fallen Ukrainian defenders here," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
He illustrated the message with a video of the commemoration ceremony. "Eternal respect to our soldiers. Eternal gratitude for the feat and defense of the country. Our duty is to preserve the memory of our fallen heroes," the president said.
