Sybiha after OSCE meeting on strike on Kryvy Rih: This must be stopped by strengthening Ukraine's defense, pressure on Moscow
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha thanked the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Elina Valtonen for convening a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on the Russian Federation's missile strike on the city of Kryvy Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, and stated the need to strengthen pressure on Russia and protect Ukraine in connection with this terrorist attack.
"We welcome clear and strong messages by OSCE participating states calling for Russia’s accountability, enhanced Ukraine’s defense capabilities, and strong steps to secure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and throughout Europe. Russia’s terror against children and playgrounds is a disgrace to humanity. Only beasts can fire a ballistic missile with a cluster warhead at residential area, killing nine children. This barbarism must be stopped by strengthening the protection of Ukraine and increasing pressure on Moscow," Sybiha wrote on X.
As reported, on April 4, Russian forces fired a ballistic missile at a residential area of Kryvy Rih. A total of 19 people were killed, including nine children, and 74 others were injured. Late in the evening, drones attacked the city, killing one person and injuring seven. On April 6, a 57-year-old victim died in hospital. Ukraine declared a day of mourning for the victims of the attack.
As of Tuesday, 31 people injured in the missile attack on Kryvy Rih remained in hospitals, including five children. Six patients are still in serious condition.
At the initiative of Ukraine, a special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council was convened on April 8 in response to the terrorist act of April 4, at which foreign delegations strongly condemned the Russian missile attack on Kryvy Rih.
