Cabinet to buy unfinished apartments from 35 constructors, says premier

The cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday plans to decide on the purchase of unfinished apartments from 35 construction companies operating in all Ukrainian regions, Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
"Today, we'll decide on 35 construction companies, which represent all of the Ukrainian regions... After making the decision, we'll be able to buy 1,569 apartments for families entitled to housing," the premier said opening the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
The prime minister said that taking into account the apartments bought by the State Mortgage Institution from constructors after a cabinet resolution issued last Wednesday, the construction sector has received UAH 556 million of financing.
"In total, taking into account today's and previous decisions, there will be almost 5,500 families around Ukraine who will get housing at reduced prices or financing for unfinished apartments," Tymoshenko said.
Tymoshenko said that the financing of the programs mentioned would be UAH 2 billion, and these funds would be invested into the construction sphere within a month.
"The financing of the deal is UAH 2 billion, and we will invest these funds into the construction field within a month, in spite of all obstacles," Tymoshenko said.
"No authority or politician will prevent us from bringing the deal to a close," Tymoshenko said.
