Ukraine, Italy discuss defense cooperation, mitigation of threats posed by Russia
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha met with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of the G7 ministerial to discuss defense cooperation and fight against threats posed by Russia, as well as Italy's role in Ukraine's recovery.
"During our meeting, I thanked Antonio Tajani for his hospitality and invitation to the G7 ministerial. We appreciate Italy's leadership and continued support. We discussed expanding defense cooperation, mitigating threats posed by Russia, and Italy's role in Ukraine's recovery," Sybiha said on the X social network Tuesday.
Tajani, for his part, confirmed Italy's firm support for Kyiv and commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace.
"We support full integration of Ukraine into the Euro-Atlantic alliance," he said.
