Russian forces advance in vicinity of Avdiyivka, positional fighting continues near coke plant – ISW
Russian forces recently advanced northeast and south of Avdiyivka amid continued positional fighting in the area on February 2, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said on February 2.
"Geolocated footage published on February 2 indicates that Russian forces recently advanced in dacha areas immediately northeast of Avdiyivka. Additional geolocated footage published on February 1 indicates that Russian forces recently advanced east of Opytne (south of Avdiyivka)," it said in February 2 updates.
According to the ISW, on February 1 and 2, Russian forces advanced in the southernmost residential area in Avdiyivka and advanced up to 1.25 kilometers near the Avdiyivka quarry.
Also, the ISW reported positional fighting northwest of Avdiyivka near Stepove, near the Avdiyivka Coke Plant in northwestern Avdiyivka, in southernmost Avdiyivka, on Avdiyivka's southern outskirts, and southwest of Avdiyivka near Pervomaiske and Nevelske.
