Von der Leyen is confident in US support for Ukraine
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen is confident in the support of Ukraine from the United States.
"I am very confident in support for Ukraine from the United States," she told reporters in Granada, Spain, on Thursday before the European Political Community summit.
"It was very important that President Biden briefed us earlier this week on what the United States support for Ukraine was all about," she said.
Von der Leyen said in the European Union they are working on a package of EUR 50 billion for Ukraine for 2024-2027. She said this is essential because "Ukraine needs predictability, reliability in the direct budget support."
"This is a powerful signal to Putin from Dublin to Chisinau that we will not tolerate aggression against a sovereign state," the EC President said.
