EUR 600 mln of EU macro-financial assistance to arrive in Ukraine within a week – Finance Ministry
The first tranche of EU macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 600 million out of a total amount of EUR 1.2 billion will arrive in Ukraine within a week, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine announced on Thursday.
"The second tranche is to come after the implementation of short-term measures agreed by the parties to implement structural reforms. EU macro-financial assistance funds will be used to maintain financial stability in Ukraine," the Finance Ministry said.
As reported, on Thursday, the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Loan Agreement with the European Union on providing Ukraine with the indicated preferential loans as part of a new package of emergency macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 1.2 billion.
