The European Union has imposed sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in response to Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
The relevant document was published in the EU's Official Journal.
Earlier, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada imposed sanctions on the Russian president and foreign minister.
