Fire at 6th Defense Ministry's Arsenal near Ichnia completely eliminated
The fire on the territory of the 6th Arsenal of the Ministry of Defense near the town of Druzhba, Ichniansky District, Chernihiv region, has been completely eliminated, the State Emergency Service has reported.
"According to the Ministry of Defense, at 18:00 on October 24, the fire extinguishing head announced its liquidation. Road and railway traffic was fully restored and the airspace was opened," the service said on Thursday morning.
Employees of State Emergency Service continue working to clean the area adjacent to the arsenal from explosive objects.
As earlier reported, more than 12,000 people were evacuated in the morning of Tuesday, October 9, due to a fire and explosions at an ammunition depot near the village of Druzhba of Ichnia district in Ukraine's Chernihiv region.
More than 12,000 people were evacuated and airspace within a 30 kilometer radius has been closed. Railway and road traffic near the ammunition depot was blocked. No casualties have been reported.
