Self-proclaimed Donetsk republic head Zakharchenko killed in blast in Donetsk

Alexander Zakharchenko, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), has suffered a fatal injury at the Separ café in the center of Donetsk, a source at the DPR head's office told Interfax citing preliminary findings.

"Based on preliminary reports, unfortunately, this is true. The head of the republic sustained a fatal injury. Unfortunately, Alexander Zakharchenko has died. [DPR] 'Finance Minister' Alexander Timofeyev has been hospitalized with an injury," the source said.
