Ministry of Justice wants to seize Zakharchenko's assets for state
The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court against Vitaliy Zakharchenko, the former Minister of Internal Affairs under President Viktor Yanukovych, regarding his assets, according to a press release from the department.
"The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice has filed a lawsuit against former Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaliy Zakharchenko with the High Anti-Corruption Court. The Ministry of Justice is requesting the recovery of six real estate properties, including two apartments in Kyiv, as well as corporate rights and funds in bank accounts, for the state treasury," the Ministry of Justice said in a message on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.
It is noted that after the Revolution of Dignity, Zakharchenko fled to Russia, where he began to openly support aggression against Ukraine, spreading propaganda narratives of the aggressor state. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he publicly justifies and recognizes the legitimacy of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
