Belarusian FM refuses to comment on arrest of Ukrainian journalist
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has not yet commented on information about the arrest of UA : Ukrainian Radio journalist Pavlo Sharoiko.
Belarusian FM press secretary Dmytriy Mironchik on Friday said, "We can confirm that Sharoiko is accredited as a foreign journalist, but we have no information [about his arrest] and can't comment."
Board Chairman of the National Public TV and Radio Broadcasting Company Zurab Alasania earlier announced the detention of Sharoiko.
"A correspondent of UA : Ukrainian Radio, citizen of Ukraine, Pavlo Sharoiko, has been detained in Belarus. The embassy of Belarus is still dodging our request," Alasania wrote on Facebook on Friday.
