Ukraine to work hard on rapprochement with EU and NATO
Ukraine will do everything possible to become a member of the European Union and NATO, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
"Persistently working, we will approach those days when Ukraine will become both a member of the EU and a NATO member," the president said during the celebrations on the occasion of the National Flag Day in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to him, the Ukrainian side managed to achieve serious success on the path of European integration. "Pay attention to how our flag is becoming to the EU flag. Two and a half months ago we gained the opportunity to freely travel to Europe, having carried out all necessary reforms to this end. Our diplomats won a hard struggle with Russian agents who tried to derail the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. And on September 1, just a week later, the Association Agreement comes into force in full," the president said.
