The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has made a statement to the parliaments of foreign states, parliamentary assemblies and international organizations regarding the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.
Some 269 deputies supported the relevant document.
MPs in their address noted Russia intends to conduct elections to the State Duma in Crimea and Sevastopol on September 18, 2016.
In this regard, the Ukrainian parliament appealed to the international community with the persistent request to refrain from participating in monitoring the elections and called not to recognize their results under any circumstances.
