Court remands Azov-Crimea leader Krasnov in custody for 2 months, instead of house arrest

Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv has changed conditions of pre-trial confinement for civil activist Stanislav Krasnov from the volunteer "Azov-Crimea" group. The court earlier had obliged him to wear an electronic ankle bracelet and put him under house arrest.

Judge of Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv Pavlo Slobodianiuk remanded Krasnov into custody on Monday evening.

Krasnov's supporters blocked the court gates after the ruling was handed down extending Krasnov's pre-trial confinement until April 26.

Dozens of police stood guard over Krasnov, presumably employees of the Interior Ministry's 'Griffon' detachment.

Krasnov's lawyer Oksana Melnyk told Interfax-Ukraine that she intended to appeal the court ruling.
