Police escorting trucks in Ukraine is fee-based, voluntary service – National Police
The National Police of Ukraine provide the fee-based escorting service on the territory of Ukraine only on the voluntary basis, Director of the communications department of the National Police of Ukraine Yaroslav Trakalo has said.
"We provide services only on the voluntary basis," Trakalo said in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda publication on Tuesday.
He said that anyone can submit an application at 17 border checkpoints.
Trakalo said that the tariff is formed depending on several parameters and mileage.
On February 26, 2016, Ukrainian law enforcers registered 19 applications.
"On February 26 we received 19 applications. These trucks were escorted by road safety units. These were Russian trucks," Trakalo said.
