Border Service registers activeness of Russian air reconnaissance and militants on administrative border with Crimea
State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has registered an intensification of air reconnaissance from Russia and occupied territories, Press Secretary of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian said.
"Within a whole week there was a tendency of active air reconnaissance by Russian terrorist troops both in front of Ukrainian-Russian border, as well as in the anti-terrorist operation zone, and on the administrative border with temporarily occupied Crimea," Slobodian said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
Since December 17, border guards registered flights of 15 drones, three Russia's Mi-8 helicopters and 5 Su-24 bomber aircraft.
However, according to him, it is not a peak number of the facts of air reconnaissance registered comparing to the last year, but still it significantly increased over the last months.
The spokesman also said that the service isn't authorized to resist foreign air vehicles since it has no necessary finances for that.
