Diplomats working hard to make Ukraine non-permanent member of UN Security Council
The Ukrainian foreign ministry wants Ukraine to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, ministry spokeswoman Maryana Betsa has said.
"Among the priorities of the Ukrainian delegation's work [at the UN] is the election of our state as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council through 2016-2017," Betsa said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
She added that elections to select the non-permanent members of UN Security Council will be held on October 15, 2015.
