SBU stops budget funding of Donetsk-based company controlled by Rinat Akhmetov
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has suspended the budget funding of a company controlled by businessman Rinat Akhmetov located in the temporarily occupied territories in Donbas.
The SBU said the company hasn't undergone the re-registration procedure in accordance with current legislation.
"According to the procedures of state procurements, it received over UAH 200 million from the state budget. As the SBU has established, the Akhmetov-controlled company in fact continued working in Donetsk receiving money from the state, which is prohibited by the Budget Code of Ukraine," the SBU press service reported on Friday.
The State Treasury suspended the funding to avoid excessive budget expenses.
The SBU has thus far failed to name the company.
