Courts rules against returning NIC.UA servers – company director
The courts have decided to not return the servers belonging to NIC.UA which were seized by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the company's director Andriy Khvetkevych wrote on his Facebook page.
"The servers were not given back to us. Today the courts decided not to return the servers, as "you have received copies," he said.
Khvetkevych said that the company has restored all its clients' websites to its server cloud.
He also said that the company will continue to protect its position in court.
As reported, SBU agents seized hosting servers at four NIC.UA data centers on April 7.
Previously, SBU agents had sent a request to the provider regarding the placement of separatist websites on its servers and the company subsequently disconnected the websites. Only hosting servers were seized. Servers that service domains continued to operate.
Khvetkevych said that the company serves over 150,000 clients, around 50,000 of which are hosting clients.
Subsequently, an advisor to the head of the SBU, Markiyan Lubkivsky, said that the SBU would keep the NIC.UA servers for two months, adding that the company's clients could ask investigators to copy their data.
